About the Bombers

The Blake Street Bombers were a collection of Colorado Rockies sluggers who captivated the Rocky Mountain region and the broader baseball world with their prodigious power at the plate. Named after the street on which their beautiful new ballpark, Coors Field, was situated, the five sluggers took the club to heights never before reached for a team at that stage of its infancy.

Together, Dante Bichette, Ellis Burks, Vinny Castilla, Andres Galarraga and Larry Walker electrified Rockies fans and very nearly helped Colorado knock off the National League's "Team of the '90s," the Atlanta Braves, in the 1995 National League Division Series.

"The Blake Street Bombers" is the definitive account of these beloved Rockies, who collectively became the first face of the franchise in its earliest years. The book represents a comprehensive biography on each of the sluggers, from childhood to the present day.
