The

BLAKE STREET BOMBERS

2020 marks the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Blake Street Bombers -- Colorado Rockies sluggers Dante Bichette, Ellis Burks, Vinny Castilla, Andres Galarraga and newly-elected Hall of Famer Larry Walker.

"The Blake Street Bombers" by Manny Randhawa is a comprehensive biography of each slugger, featuring exclusive interviews and spanning from childhood to the present day, including the Bombers years in the mid-1990s.

In addition to the Bombers themselves, hear from Eric Young, Walt Weiss, Joe Girardi, Joe Maddon, Tony La Russa, Felipe Alou, Dave Roberts and more.

"My love for baseball was born in the crucible of 20th and Blake Street. Growing up watching the Bombers gave me a passion for the game and a sense that I was watching something heroic. Randhawa has brought their story to life in a concise and engaging way, and I’m hopeful more people outside Colorado will appreciate their contributions to the game.

"The prose is accessible and direct, and balanced with a lot of heart.

"I enjoyed the read immensely."

"I loved this book. Reading it was so fun I found myself smiling for much of the time. I was a teenager back in the early years of the Rockies and reading this book was so nostalgic for me.

"The book is well-written and the author had access to interviewing many of the important players in the book. The book was so good that it inspired me to go on YouTube and watch old games of the Blake Street Bombers.

"My favorite thing about the book is the fact that it’s establishing the legacy of these guys and this ball club. The Rockies are still young and so I love that this book exists about them.

"Highly recommended."

As a Colorado kid who grew up in the '90s, the Blake Street Bombers were rock stars to me. Manny goes into incredible detail with each of them, so expect to learn a lot even if you consider yourself a diehard Rockies fan. What I enjoyed most is that Manny dedicated an entire chapter to Larry Walker's HOF candidacy. I can't thank you enough for opening people's eyes to how good a player Walker really was!

This is from start to finish an outstanding book! No where have rockies fans had this many up interviews with all 5 of the Bombers until now. I read it every night before to sleep which I should probably stop doing since I can’t seem to put it down!!

"As someone who started watching the Rockies right in the middle of the Bombers era, I really enjoyed this book. Lots of good statistical data. Lots of good memories. And lots of backstory I didn't know before."
